Chair Kleeb Speaks with 75 Democrats in Wakefield about Winning Elections

Wakefield – On Sunday, October 29th, Chair of the Nebraska Democratic Party, Jane Kleeb, spoke to a crowd of 75 at an event hosted by the Dixon County Democrats. We talked about how Democrats engage with people that traditionally don’t turn out to vote. We talked about how we rebuild our party by empowering our county parties to talk with their neighbors and show voters how these decisions will affect their lives. We are working to rebuild our Party both in Nebraska and Nationally.

“Dixon County is a leading example on how to build our Democratic Party at the grassroots level. Dixon County Democrats of all backgrounds and ideologies are working shoulder to shoulder to recruit candidates and train volunteers to help Democrats win elections.” Jane Kleeb, Chair, Nebraska Democratic Party

“We were gratified at the size of the turnout and surprised to have folks from nine Nebraska counties attend.  It was reassuring to see so many politically like-minded neighbors.  One of Kleeb’s messages was the importance of helping rural Nebraska Democrats feel “bold and proud” of their political affiliation, and our Dixon County group will help empower our neighbors by sponsoring county candidate events, staffing our booth at the Dixon County Fair, marching in local parades, and attending community events.  We will also be partnering with the Northeast Nebraska Democrats to sponsor candidate events for regional and state elections in 2018.” Mary Ellen Ellyson, Co-Chair, Dixon County Democrats

“We had a great time meeting Democrats from all over Northeast Nebraska. I loved hearing what issues people were thinking about and how our Party stands up for their values. It was great hearing from our new candidate from the 40th Legislative District. Hard work wins, and Democrats will always out work Republicans.” Eric Aspengren, Executive Director, Nebraska Democratic Party
