GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY TO BE KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT NEBRASKA DEMOCRATIC PARTY’S ANNUAL MORRISON EXON DINNER

The Honorable Governor Martin O’Malley will be the featured guest and keynote speaker for the Nebraska Democratic Party’s 2014 Morrison Exon Dinner on July 26 in Omaha, Nebraska. Governor O’Malley of Maryland is nationally recognized as a prominent leader within the Democratic Party.

“The Nebraska Democratic Party is honored to have Governor O’Malley as our guest in Nebraska. As a leading star of the Democratic Party, Governor O’Malley has undeniably captured the national spotlight,” said NDP Chair, Vince Powers. “Without a doubt, the Governor’s presence in Nebraska will amplify the Party’s momentum throughout the state, and galvanize support for all our candidates this election year.”

Throughout his time as Governor, O’Malley has been focused on getting results for the people of Maryland. He led Maryland skillfully through the recession-working to close a $1.7 billion structural deficit while maintaining a AAA bond rating, freezing the cost of college tuition for four years in a row, and making critical investments in public schools, infrastructure, and innovation.

Prior to serving as Governor, O’Malley served as Mayor of the City of Baltimore. Between 1999 and 2007 his policies helped the people of Baltimore achieve the greatest Part 1 crime reduction of America’s largest cities.
