Grassroots Nebraskans Hold We The People Town Hall, Rep. Bacon and Sens. Fischer and Sasse Hide

The Nebraska Democratic Party along with multiple grassroots organizations and candidates running for local office are going to be meeting with concerned people of the Omaha area. We invited all of the members of Congress that represent the Omaha area, but have heard nothing in return. Nebraskans deserve to talk with our Congressional delegation. Earlier this morning the Omaha World Herald reported that no members of Congress from Nebraska have any planed public town halls. It has also been reported that Congressman Don Bacon has no plans on ever holding town halls, out of fear that some distressed constituents will ask him questions.

“It doesn’t make sense that you would allow the fringe to take over a town hall,” Bacon told The World-Herald. “It’s not fair to the people there, and it’s what they’re going to try to do. And I just don’t see putting myself in that situation or those who want to attend.”
