MAYOR CHRIS BEUTLER ANNOUNCES RE-ELECTION BID

Citing national recognition of Lincoln’s business climate and quality of life, Chris Beutler stood with Lincoln business and neighborhood leaders to announce his bid for re-election as Mayor of Lincoln. This morning, at an entrepreneurial hub in the Haymarket, Beutler declared, “Lincoln is on the right track, on a path that is leading this community to increasing prosperity and a high quality of life.” Beutler is seeking another term as Mayor to continue leading Lincoln on a successful path toward the future.

Mayor Beutler has led the city to new heights in economic success and growth. Beutler said that the evidence of Lincoln’s success during his tenure is “all around us.” He highlighted a University of Nebraska economist who declared, “Lincoln’s economy is surging” and pointed to Forbes magazine’s designation of Lincoln as a top five community for business and careers. At the forefront of Beutler’s plan for the Capital City are continuing Lincoln’s progress in economic growth and enhancing quality of life through improvements to neighborhoods, roads, and public safety.

Looking ahead, Beutler asserted that, “investing in Lincoln’s infrastructure is key to setting the stage for a promising future for both our economy and our high quality of living.” Beutler plans to continue work to repair roads and sidewalks and make other improvements to our neighborhoods. He also plans to continue investing in high tech infrastructure such as high-speed internet, which he stated, “is a necessity, expanding opportunities for Lincoln’s small businesses, entrepreneurs, independent workers, and major employers who will build our future.”

Beutler was joined at Fuse Coworking by Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Commissioner and neighborhood leader Cathy Beecham, former chair of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and manufacturing business owner Nick Cusick, and tech entrepreneur Matthew Wegener, who spoke in support of the Mayor’s re-election. Each emphasized the importance of his leadership on economic growth and development, neighborhoods, and the investments made to improve our quality of life, all of which has put Lincoln on the right track for the future.

“Together we will continue to lead Lincoln forward and keep our community on the right track and lay the groundwork as we move from our bright past to a brilliant future. May God bless us and give us the courage to pursue our most treasured dreams together,” said Mayor Beutler in closing.
