Nebraska Democratic Party Statement on Election Results in Key States
LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Democratic Party Chair and DNC Vice Chair Jane Kleeb issued the following statement following the election results across the nation in key states:
“The voters in Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maine, Georgia, and California have spoken with an overwhelming voice that Americans have had enough of MAGA Republicans’ power grabs and extreme policies by the Trump Administration. This 2025 blue wave is just the beginning as we head into the crucial midterms of 2026. The Nebraska Democratic Party stands ready to do our part to elect Democrats and independents to the state legislature, governor, Congress, US Senate, and all downballot candidates across our state.
When we invest in state parties, we win elections. Tonight’s victories show that when Democrats organize everywhere, we win — with messages that connect to voters, their pocketbooks, and our party’s values. We’re standing up to the greed and corruption of the Republican Party and fighting back with ideas that make people’s everyday lives more affordable.
Congratulations to Virginia Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger, New Jersey Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill, New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, and the two statewide Georgia Public Service Commissioners on the collective national victories. These major victories, along with victories in Nebraska earlier this year, will inspire Democrats across the nation to stand up to Trump and take back our country one state at a time.”
