Finally some good news.<\/p>\n

Mercifully, there will be no more presidential debates as the clock ticks down toward the Nov. 3 election. Just 11 more days.<\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s debate was less painful than the first — where Trump was totally unhinged.<\/p>\n

The Washington Post\u2019s\u00a0Dana Milbank<\/a>\u00a0did his journalistic duty by sitting through the thing and then writing about it.<\/p>\n

But there was something Trump\u2019s advisers apparently hadn\u2019t considered when they told him, in more polite words, to \u201cshut up, man,\u201d as Joe Biden requested during the last debate: The only thing worse for Trump than having an unwatchable debate is having a watchable debate.<\/em><\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t a battle between Biden and Trump. It was a battle between reality and fantasy. In front of tens of millions, Trump played the fantasist \u2014 utterly removed from Americans\u2019 suffering and from the most obvious truths.<\/em><\/p>\n

Eye rolls and head shakes replace interruptions in the final presidential debate.<\/em><\/p>\n

Moderators in the final presidential debate were allowed to mute microphones for interruptions. Here\u2019s how both candidates\u2019 body language spoke on their behalf.<\/em><\/p>\n

The most stunning part, even after four years of this, is that Trump seems to believe his own rearrangement of facts. With a straight face, he announced that it was Biden who, in eight years as vice president, \u201cdid nothing except build cages to keep children in.\u201d In this novel version, Trump is the one who \u201cchanged the policy\u201d of family separation (and, besides, the facilities where he warehoused the children were \u201cso clean\u201d).<\/em><\/p>\n

NBC\u2019s\u00a0<\/em>Kristen Welker<\/em>\u00a0calmly and capably weathered Trump\u2019s hectoring. \u201cWe need to move on,\u201d she told him.<\/em><\/p>\n

So do we all.<\/p>\n

Our 100,000 Calls Across Nebraska — which ended on Oct.18 — was a HUGE success!<\/p>\n

The final tally showed we made 171,199 phone calls!<\/p>\n

Also over the last month, we got out the vote in every method possible: 471,000 text messages, 210,000 voter guides, 50,000 postcards, 49,500 yard signs and 35,000 \u201cno-knock lit drops\u201d right to people\u2019s doors.<\/p>\n

Inside Elections<\/em>\u00a0moved its prediction for our District 2 electoral vote from \u201ctilt Democrat\u201d to \u201clean Democrat.\u201d We\u2019re on the verge of delivering a presidential vote to Joe Biden.<\/p>\n

Sabato\u2019s Crystal Ball<\/em>\u00a0moved its CD-2 Congressional prediction from \u201clean Republican\u201d to \u201ctoss-up.\u201d It\u2019s anybody\u2019s game between Kara Eastman and Don Bacon.<\/p>\n
