Former president* Donald Trump must be kicking himself these days as he awaits word on what he and his MAGA devotees are convinced will be his reinstatement to office over their deluded \u201dBig Lie\u201d that the election was stolen from him.<\/p>\n

It was Trump, after all, who greased the skids for Louis DeJoy to become U.S. Postmaster General, a role which DeJoy promptly used to screw up mail delivery — just in time for the 2020 election.<\/p>\n

To Trump\u2019s umbrage, DeJoy\u2019s deeds are lingering, as the\u00a0New Yorker\u2019s Andy Borowitz<\/a>\u00a0has noted:<\/p>\n

Neighbors of Donald J. Trump said that they have seen him check the mailbox in front of his house \u201cmultiple times a day\u201d while waiting for what he called his \u201creinstatement notice\u201d to come.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mel and Tracy Klugian, who have lived next door to Mar-a-Lago for the past twenty-seven years, said that Trump starts checking the mailbox first thing in the morning, sometimes dressed in his bathrobe and slippers.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI told him that the mail doesn\u2019t come until three most days, but he just said, \u2018I don\u2019t mind waiting,\u2019 \u201d Mr. Klugian said.<\/em><\/p>\n

According to Mrs. Klugian, Trump told her that his reinstatement notice could be coming \u201cany day now,\u201d and he doesn\u2019t want to miss it.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the mail truck comes, he gets this excited look on his face,\u201d she said. \u201cThen he usually winds up with a bunch of Pottery Barn catalogues and whatnot, and he just trudges sadly back to the house.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Mr. Klugian said that he sympathized with Trump because he remembered \u201cchecking the mail a lot when I first retired.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you don\u2019t have anything to do, the mail becomes kind of the high point of your day,\u201d he said. \u201cHe has to get into gardening or volunteering. Something. He can\u2019t go on like this.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has CD2 as one of its 22 competitive House districts that are either open or held by Republicans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are building a winning coalition of voters to flip the CD2 seat red to blue,\u201d said NDP Chair Jane Kleeb. \u201cRep. Bacon pretends he is a moderate using all sorts of fake talking points. Bacon\u2019s voting record reflects his true values of turning his back on assistance to small businesses and families as well as women experiencing violence. Nebraskans do not like fake bacon and we intend to keep Don accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Mobile Offices will allow us to provide our local parties with a comprehensive and professional kit that can be used for fairs, parades, voter registration drives and more.<\/p>\n

They are available to county parties, affiliated caucus and policy councils and other Democratic operatives across the state.<\/p>\n

As a grassroots initiative, the project relies on the leadership and participation of local leaders. Those looking to request a Mobile Office should be prepared to return the office or help deliver it to its next location.<\/p>\n

Each Mobile Office contains a canopy tent for outdoor use, parade banner, table, comprehensive collection of literature, a wide range of basic tabling items, first aid kit and optional display components upon request.<\/p>\n
