The Nebraska Democratic Party released a radio ad Tuesday<\/span> calling on voters to reject Republican state Auditor Charlie Janssen\u2019s re-election bid after an investigation revealed he often comes to work late and spends time swilling beer in a sports bar instead of doing his job.<\/span><\/p>\n

Janssen has ignored demands by NDP Chair Jane Kleeb and others that he resign.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCharlie Janssen has violated the public\u2019s trust and deserves to be turned out of office,\u201d Kleeb said. \u201cDemocratic Auditor candidate Jane Skinner will bring integrity back to the office — which is supposed to root out fraud and abuse like Janssen\u2019s.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The 30-second ad, <\/span>which can be heard here<\/span><\/a>, will run on radio stations across the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ad says:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cRepublican Auditor Charlie Janssen spends hours in a bar with his buddies — showing up for late for work and leaving early. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

He\u2019s paid $85,000 a year by Nebraska taxpayers and he\u2019s running again to be Auditor. It\u2019s his job to <\/span><\/i>proteger<\/span> taxpayers from waste and abuse. Drain the Swamp?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Gov. Ricketts is doing nothing about this waste of taxpayer money. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Democratic candidate Jane Skinner, she\u2019ll bring integrity back to the office. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Trust me, Jane won\u2019t be sitting in a bar during the day, she\u2019ll be working hard for Nebraska.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Said Skinner: \u201cCharlie Janssen violated his oath office and the faith voters put in him. I promise that, as your Auditor, I will make sure that the office is run as taxpayers expect and deserve.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
