NDP Chair Jane Kleeb praised the <\/span>strong slate of Democratic candidates that advanced in Tuesday\u2019s City of Lincoln Primary Election and now heads to the May 7 General Election.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe strength of Democratic voters continues to beat expectations as we build our party across the state,\u201d <\/span>Kleeb said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dina balapan pikeun <\/span>Walikota<\/b>, <\/span>D\u00e9mokrat <\/span>Leirion Gaylor Baird<\/b> will face Republican Cyndi Lamm in the General Election.<\/span><\/p>\n

Democratic Mayor Chris Beutler was precluded from seeking a fourth term after voters approved a three-term limit on the office that was pushed by the GOP. Beutler had beaten Republican candidates in the last three mayoral elections. Democrats have held the mayor\u2019s office since 1999.<\/span><\/p>\n

In races for the <\/span>D\u00e9wan Kota<\/b>, D\u00e9mokrat <\/span>James Michael Bowers<\/b>, a school social worker and small business owner, will face Republican Taylor Wyatt for the District 1 seat that is now held by Lamm, who did not seek re-election in order to run for mayor.<\/span><\/p>\n

In District 2, Democrat <\/span>Megan Stock<\/b>, an elementary school teacher, will face Republican Richard Meginnis for the seat being vacated by Republican Jon Camp, who did not not seek re-election. <\/span><\/p>\n

In District 3, Democratic incumbent <\/span>Jane Raybould<\/b>, an executive with her family\u2019s grocery store chain, will face <\/span>Republican Colten Zamrzla. <\/span><\/p>\n

In District 4, <\/span>D\u00e9mokrat <\/span>Tammy Ward<\/b>, a longtime political and community activist and aide to former U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson, will face <\/span>Libertarian <\/span>James Herrold for the seat being vacated by Democrat Carl Eskridge, who did not seek re-election.<\/span><\/p>\n

In races for the <\/span>Dewan Pendidikan Umum Lincoln School<\/b>, <\/span>Democratic incumbent <\/span>Annie Mumgaard<\/b> will face Republican <\/span>Paul Claus in District 4.<\/span><\/p>\n

Di <\/span>District 6, Democrat<\/span> Bob Rauner<\/b>, a Lincoln physician, was unopposed in his first bid to serve on the board.<\/span><\/p>\n

And in the race for a seat on the <\/span>Otoritas Bandara Lincoln<\/b>, Demo<\/span>crat <\/span>Aurang Zeb<\/b>, a Lincoln business manager, wi<\/span>ll face<\/span> Independent Nick Cusick.<\/span><\/p>\n
