Well, we made it to 2020.<\/p>\n

It was not an easy path. And President Trump closed out 2019 with an\u00a0inspiring speech<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0at a rally in Michigan — words that no doubt will be chiseled in granite one day.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll get to that in a minute, but first — for perspective — we need to give deference to memorable words from his predecessors:<\/p>\n

\u201cNinety-nine percent of failures come from people who make excuses.\u201d \u2015 George Washington<\/p>\n

\u201cHonesty is the first chapter of the book wisdom.\u201d \u2015 Thomas Jefferson<\/p>\n

\u201cWe become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic. Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams.\u201d \u2015 Jimmy Carter<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re walking down the right path and you\u2019re willing to keep walking, eventually you\u2019ll make progress\u201d \u2015 Barack Obama<\/p>\n

Not to be outdone, Trump let it rip:<\/p>\n

“Dishwashers — we did the dishwasher, right? You press it — remember the dishwasher, you’d press it, boom, there’d be like an explosion, five minutes later you open it up, the steam pours out, the dishes. Now, you press it 12 times. Women tell me. Again, you know, they give you four drops of water. And they’re in places where there’s so much water, they don’t know what to do with it. So we just came out with a reg on dishwashers — we’re going back to you. By the way, by the time they press it 10 times, you spend more on water — and electric! Don’t forget. The whole thing is worse because you’re spending all that money on electric. So we’re bringing back standards that are great.”<\/em><\/p>\n
