Both candidates are in the race for NE2 district to defeat Rep. Don Bacon. Eastman and Ashford are calling for current the Congressional Members to do the same and to uphold their legislative duty for gun reform. <\/span><\/p>\n

As reported by Roseann Moring at the <\/span>Omaha World Herald<\/span><\/a>, \u201cThe two Democratic candidates for Nebraska\u2019s 2nd Congressional District both say they would be aggressive advocates for gun control measures such as an assault weapons ban and universal background checks.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Democrats are standing with young people and families while Republicans are standing with the corporate lobby group, the NRA.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is time that Don Bacon stops turning his back on students in Nebraska. It is time to reject the NRA and all it stands for. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ashford and Eastman both started petitions to call for substantive action. They, unlike the current Republican cohort, understand that change is vital to protect the lives of young people across the country. No student should fear going to school.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every ounce of support is necessary to defeat the big gun lobby. <\/span><\/p>\n
