Judge Ideus\u2019s decision is not a win for the spoiler party &#8211; it is proof the law has a hole big enough to drive dark money through, which is bad for our collective democracy.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Court wrongly rejected our claims, adopting a meritless argument that the Republican Secretary of State manufactured. We followed Nebraska law when we filed this challenge, which we will argue on appeal. Our appeal is on solid ground. The \u2018Working People Party\u2019 violates a state law on using part of the name of an existing party &#8211; the Working Families Party.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Win or lose at the Supreme Court, one fundamental fact remains &#8211; we ask the Legislature to close this gap next session. Certify partisan candidates like most states already do, and require any new party to organize at least a year before an election. No more late-cycle gamesmanship deciding who\u2019s on our ballot.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These aren\u2019t organic grassroots efforts by a legitimate new political party.
