We\u2019ll say this about the Trump and his gang: They sure get around.<\/p>\n
On top of his frequent golf outings to his own resorts on the taxpayers\u2019 dime —\u00a0247 since taking office<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>at a cost of $130 million — the president and his entourage recently journeyed to India and hobnobbed with Hindu nationalist Prime Minister Narendra Modi.<\/p>\n But Paula White — who labors in the White House as Trump\u2019s \u201cspiritual adviser\u201d — really went the extra mile, claiming that she actually ascended into Heaven and met with God.<\/p>\n That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n \u201cI literally went to the Throne Room of God,\u201d she said. \u201cThere was a mist that was coming off the water, and I went to the throne of God, and I didn\u2019t see God\u2019s face clearly, but I saw the face of God \u2026 I knew it was the face of God.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cHe put a mantle [on me] and it was a very distinct mantle,\u201d White continued. \u201cThere was a mantle, and I saw it very distinctly, the color was like a goldish, a yellowish goldish \u2026 and then I saw the Earth for a moment, and [God] brought me back, and he put me in certain places, one being the White House, one being certain continents.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t come out of that really until the next morning,\u201d White reported.<\/em><\/p>\n Her journey drew the\u00a0interest of Aldous J. Pennyfarthing<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in the Daily Kos, who mused: \u201cYeah, I\u2019ve never done bath salts, so I really don\u2019t know if she\u2019s lying or hallucinating, but I\u2019m pretty confident this didn\u2019t really happen.\u201d<\/p>\n Amen and hallelujah.<\/p>\n 249 days until the election, folks.<\/p>\n ***<\/p>\n Programming note: NDP Chair Jane Kleeb will be on HBO with Bill Maher tonight at 9 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n ***<\/p>\n In case you missed it, former U.S. Sens. Bob Kerrey, Ben Nelson and Chuck Hagel of Nebraska were among 70 former senators who signed an opinion piece in the Washington Post entitled The Senate is failing to perform its constitutional duties.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n \u201cAnecdotally, we have been told by sitting members that the diminished state of the Senate has left them doubting whether there is any point in continuing to serve, and it has caused potential candidates to question whether the reality of Senate membership is worth the considerable effort and expense of running for office.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n ***<\/p>\n The Nebraska Secretary of State has announced the slate of presidential candidates for the May 12 primary ballot.<\/p>\n The Democrats (in alphabetical order) are: Joseph R. Biden, Michael R.
