Well, Gov. Pete \u201cGosh, My Daddy\u2019s Rich\u201d Ricketts continues to prove that his heart is made of wood.<\/p>\n

Ricketts, who was born with a gold spoon in his mouth, showed again that he has no empathy or compassion for those Nebraskans in need by vetoing a pair of measures meant to help them.<\/p>\n

LB08 could offer food assistance to another 3,476 households in Nebraska, said Omaha Sen. John McCollister, the bill\u2019s sponsor. The additional aid would be provided through federal dollars and the latest pandemic relief measure would cover the costs of administering the aid.<\/p>\n

LB306 would — horror of horrors — help poor Nebraskans pay their heating and cooling bills.<\/p>\n

Ricketts launched an\u00a0aggressive lobbying effort<\/a>\u00a0against lawmakers\u2019 plan to override his vetoes by urging them to \u201cstop this liberal expansion of state welfare benefits.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lawmakers plucked his feathers and overrode both vetoes.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that Ricketts\u2019 marionette Sen. Julie \u201cYes, Master\u201d Slama voted against both overrides.<\/p>\n
