He then marched out into the Rose Garden, where reporters had been gathered, and delivered a statement bristling with anger as he demanded that Democrats \u201cget these phony investigations over with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The spectacle was panned by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.esquire.com\/news-politics\/politics\/a27559083\/donald-trump-nancy-pelosi-investigations-infrastructure-rose-garden\/\"><strong>\u65f6\u5c1a\u5148\u751f\u7684\u67e5\u5c14\u65af\u00b7\u76ae\u5c14\u65af<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0who called it \u201cpretty much an impromptu performance of The Caine Mutiny Court Martial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore talk of witch-hunts and hoaxes and a lot of yammering about how transparent he&#8217;s been and a monstrous exaggeration of his alleged accomplishments. One can picture White House aides hiding under desks and skulking down back alleys in search of noonday whiskey. And, as the reports that leaked out in the immediate aftermath of the meeting revealed, the president* went somewhat berserk even by his own standards and walked out after three whole minutes. Pelosi responded at her own news conference by slipping in the Italian-Catholic version of the shiv used by Southern Belles when they say, \u2018Bless Your Heart.\u2019 &#8221;<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/imkIJOzAI_cDHaq2DPxdpqc49Cy2FkBoAv3V9OLuCgF9s9aLL4s_wv6D7kKw3LgmBvudFA93lqvRtZGusxUaDPA7dNwiz4_vwQ65TIB1orcJzJEv9TxoYfYwAnnAZgN1N5jlqHNz\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" align=\"center\" \/><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">***<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2020-presidential-election-turnout-predictions-democrats-143cced4-cda7-4665-9fc3-911387416119.html\"><strong>Axios reported<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0this week that the midterm elections may have been a sign of what&#8217;s ahead for the 2020 presidential election: Experts say the voter turnout could be the highest in a century.<\/p>\n<p>Michael McDonald, an elections expert at the University of Florida, told Axios that turnout for the 2020 election could be as high as 67% \u2014 the highest it&#8217;s been since at least 1916. If that happens, President Trump will have a tougher fight for a second term. He&#8217;s driving turnout among those most unhappy with him (younger voters and people of color) even when he&#8217;s not on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>On a related happy note,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/444972-poll-60-percent-say-trump-should-not-be-reelected\"><strong>The Hill reported<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>that a new poll found a strong majority of voters believes President Trump does not deserve a second term in office. The Monmouth University survey released Wednesday found that only 37 percent of voters believe Trump should be reelected, while 60 percent said they think it\u2019s time to have someone new in the White House.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">***<\/p>\n<p>With three past Lincoln mayors looking on,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/journalstar.com\/news\/local\/govt-and-politics\/progress-heralded-as-lincoln-swears-in-gaylor-baird-city-s\/article_340baff1-6f31-5f08-9548-6ac94f5dc453.html#tracking-source=home-top-story-1\"><strong>Democrat Leirion Gaylor Baird\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>took the handoff Monday and officially became the third woman to serve as the city&#8217;s top leader.
