NDP Chair Jane Kleeb made the following statement after meeting this week in Washington D.C. with Nebraska’s GOP congressional delegation:
“The Green New Deal is a critical next step to confront climate change, an issue that impacts Agricultural livelihoods. What is not helpful are comments from progressive leaders saying we need to stop eating meat in order to solve the climate crisis.
We invited Nebraska’s GOP congressional delegation today to join us in getting more urban Congressional members to visit family farms and ranches in Nebraska to see how we already are confronting climate change with solutions like solar, biofuels and cover crops.”
