يذكر الحزب الوطني الديمقراطي المستقلين بأنهم يستطيعون التصويت في الانتخابات التمهيدية للحزب الديمقراطي

Today marks the first day that Nebraska voters can request a Vote-by-Mail ballot for the 2020 election cycle, and the NDP would like to remind Independent voters that they now can ask for a Democratic ballot and participate in the May Primary Election.

This will be the first year where Independent votes will count towards the presidential nomination process in our state.

The Nebraska Democratic Party voted to allow unaffiliated voters — Independents — to cast ballots in the 2020 presidential primary. The Republican Party does not allow Independents to vote in their primary.

We moved from a caucus to a primary to ensure more access to the ballot and to help us identify Independent voters who agree with our issues and values.

“Voting by mail is easy, and we want to include Independent voters in the primary process,” said NDP Chair Jane Kleeb. “Together, we are changing the political landscape to one that lives up to the phrase ‘We The People.’  It’s the best way to get Democrats elected.”

When Independents apply for a Vote-by Mail Ballot, all they have to do is write “I request a Democratic Ballot” on the application.
