Nebraska Democratic Party Condemns Republicans’ Misleading Attacks on Democratic Candidate Jess Goldoni
LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Democratic Party (NDP) and the Douglas County Democratic Party (DCDP) issued the following joint statements calling out the lies being told by Republicans with the Nebraska United PAC targeting Democratic candidate Jess Goldoni (Legislative District 18).
“Republican operatives are lying to voters about Jess Goldoni because their own candidates have nothing to offer. Instead of running on ideas, big donors and politicians are hiding behind a PAC to launch dishonest attacks on a hard-working Nebraskan. That’s not politics – that’s desperation. Republicans are showing us they are a bunch of liars and cowards. We stand proudly with Jess Goldoni. She’s running to put money back in the pockets of District 18 families – not to pad the bank accounts of the corporations funding these smear campaigns. Nebraska United is a Nebraska Political Action Committee (PAC) that has been active in attacking Democratic candidates for the Nebraska Legislature. The PAC has strong ties to Governor Jim Pillen. According to NADC filings, the PAC has raised over $400,000 since the beginning of 2026. The top 3 donors to the Nebraska United PAC are: JSMM Farms Partnership, La Vaca Cattle Company, and J.E. Meuret Grain Company.
- JSMM Farms has given $565,000 to Pillen for Governor, Nebraska United, and Together Nebraska over the last few years.
Jess Goldoni is the latest candidate to be attacked in ads that create confusion and chaos, distorting her record. Nebraska United sent one set of mail filled with lies to Democrats, calling Jess Goldoni a MAGA candidate, photoshopping her next to Donald Trump. Then they send mail to Republican voters calling Jess Goldoni a radical Democrat. Maybe what Nebraska United did not account for is the number of mixed households in Nebraska receiving two pieces of mail on the same day, and voters on both sides of the aisle calling the Democratic Party, frustrated that Republicans would lie so much about a Democratic candidate.
