Nebraska Democratic Party Condemns Republican Desperation Ads That Prove One Thing – They Have No Answers for Nebraska Families
LINCOLN, NE – With Nebraska’s May 12th Primary Election just days away, Republican operatives are flooding mailboxes, computer screens, and airwaves with dishonest attacks on Democratic candidates – a sign not of strength, but of panic. Republicans resort to lies because their record can’t stand on its own.
“When you have nothing to offer Nebraska families, you lie about the people who do,” said Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Kleeb. “Republicans control the Governor’s mansion, the Legislature, and our congressional seats. So ask yourself: why are they this desperate to tear down our candidates instead of running on their own record?”
The answer is simple.
Under Republican leadership, Nebraska farmers are getting crushed by Trump’s tariff chaos, fertilizer costs are through the roof, and farm bankruptcies are rising. Medicaid is being gutted while working families struggle to keep up. Republicans had every opportunity to deliver for Nebraskans – and they failed.
Now, with nothing to show for it, they are trying to tie Nebraska Democratic candidates to national talking points that have nothing to do with the real issues facing our state. It won’t work.
Nebraska Democratic candidates are running on kitchen-table issues: protecting healthcare, supporting family farms, lowering costs, and holding corporations accountable. That’s a record Republicans simply cannot match – so they lie.
“The more desperate the attack, the more worried they are,” Kleeb added. “Nebraskans are smart. They know a nothing-burger smear campaign when they see one. And they know which party actually shows up for them.”
