Today the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Ohio’s law to purge voter rolls. The Nebraska Democratic Party has released the following Statement in response.
“The removal of voters from voter rolls needs to be undertaken with the greatest of care, transparency, and in complete compliance with the standards established by federal law. Too often eligible voters are being purged from the voter rolls due to inconsistent state to state standards and intentional, ill-conceived, removal of law abiding citizens. As your next Secretary of State; secure, clean, and accurate voter rolls are of the utmost importance. We must protect eligible voters and monitor, investigate, and bring suits against illegal and discriminatory voter purge activities in our state.
