Last night, vulnerable Congressman Don Bacon fell in line with his Washington party bosses and voted to shut down the government, willfully risking crucial government benefits like delivering tax refunds and processing new social security applications just as families are preparing for the holidays. His reckless vote would also hold the paychecks of hundreds of thousands of federal workers hostage.
Since the start of the pandemic, Bacon has continuously voted “NO” on legislation that would protect both the health and the economic progress of Nebraskans.
His latest extremist vote — done for the sole purpose of political gamesmanship instead of concern for Nebraskan families and workers — shows a complete disregard for the wellbeing of our country.
