Press release: NPD’s Kleeb praises President Biden after his first State of the Union Address

Nebraska Democratic Chair Jane Kleeb had high praise Tuesday for President Joe Biden after his first State of the Union Address.

“President Biden demonstrated strength as he called for unity across our nation to help tackle major issues from the climate crisis to a full economic recovery. Biden approached the COVID pandemic with a serious plan and provided states and communities resources to keep Americans healthy and safe” Kleeb said.

“Biden’s bi-partisan Infrastructure and Jobs Act is boosting the entire nation, including the $3 billion to Nebraska for improving our roads, bridges, broadband, airports and building electric vehicle charging stations. As the President laid out, this is only the beginning to the investments we need to build out a clean energy infrastructure that creates good-paying union jobs and helps solve the climate crisis.”

“The mental health of our kids took a serious hit during the pandemic and President Biden is addressing this critical issue with more resources from a crisis line to trained professionals in our schools and ensuring insurance companies pay for mental health services. The comprehensive mental health plan Biden presented is truly historic and shows the compassion he has for our kids and families.”

“President Biden took a firm, measured approach to dealing with the crisis in Ukraine fueled by Russia’s ongoing threat to democracies around the world. Our nation stands with the Ukrainian people.”
