Nebraska Democratic Party Internship

Nebraska Democratic Party Internship & Service Hour Program

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

The Nebraska Democratic Party (NDP) offers interns an exciting opportunity to learn about political campaigns, perform various grassroots tasks, and learn the inner workings of building the Democratic Party in our state.

The NDP offers a variety of opportunities for talented, hard-working, and dedicated individuals looking to gain experience in the fast-paced world of politics. Based on area of interest, interns will be assigned to a specific staff member.

Intern positions are available at both our Lincoln and Omaha offices. During the summer, internships may be available in rural communities as well. Some light travel may be required.

This internship provides a unique opportunity to get hands-on experience working in the day-to-day operations of a major political party in our state. During election season, interns will have opportunities to work with campaigns at different government levels.

Internships that involve college credit will be dictated by the required hours in their program. Internships that are not associated with college credit will require a minimum of 5 hours during the week during the internship.

INTERN BENEFITS

NDP interns will have the opportunity to network and learn valuable skills through hands-on experience with NDP staff, leaders, elected officials, candidates, activists, and allies.

NDP interns will also have the opportunity to attend trainings, party leader meetings, fundraisers, campaign events, fairs/parades, and cultural festivals.

NDP interns will gain valuable knowledge of current issues, initiatives, legislation, and events impacting voters/citizens at the local and national levels.

Upon completion of the internship, NDP staff can provide completion of college credit to faculty.

AREAS OF INTEREST

NDP interns will have the opportunity to work in various areas of interest including Communications, Organizing, Data, Candidate Recruitment, Party Building, Fundraising, Constituency Outreach, and Social Media.
