Following the first joint event between Hillary Clinton and Senator Sanders, Vince Powers, Chair of the Nebraska Democratic Party and Jane Kleeb, incoming Chair of the Nebraska Democratic Party, issued the following joint statement.
…
“Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have come together because as Democrats and Americans, they know that we are always stronger together. Donald Trump’s dangerous and divisive candidacy means that in this election, nothing can be taken for granted. He has shown Nebraskans time and again that he is unfit to be President of the United States.
“As our party unites behind Hillary Clinton, we are uniting behind all the shared values that we have always fought for in the streets and in the voting booth. Hillary Clinton will fight for an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top. She believes we need to work with our allies to keep us safe and that we are better when we lift each other up instead of tearing each other down. She will ensure we transition to a clean energy economy with landowners, communities of color and Tribal Nations at the table.
“These are values we all share and values that are completely absent from Donald Trump’s candidacy. The stakes are too high in this election. We simply can’t afford Donald Trump in the White House. We have an opportunity to make history this November and all Nebraska Democrats will work their hearts out to make sure Hillary Clinton is our next president. Together, we get things done.”
