Nebraska Democratic Party Statement on the Trump Administration Pausing Funding on Federal Programs
LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Kleeb issues the following statement regarding the Trump Administration’s overnight pausing of funding crucial federal programs:
“Republicans are literally cutting off funding for hungry kids and critical programs that veterans and seniors rely on in our communities. That is the state of play right now and not a peep from our federal delegation on the potential harm and confusion the Trump Administration is causing to our most vulnerable in Nebraska.
Our state and federal leaders, though, continue to focus on culture wars that have impacted 10 athletes over the last 10 years or an electoral process that won’t happen for another 4 years.
The priorities of the Republicans always end in cruelty.
The pain the Trump administration is causing with his black sharpie will impact red and blue states equally. Democrats remain committed to being there for the people. We will continue to recruit candidates who believe that our government is here to help not hurt people.”
