Nebraska Democratic Party Statement on United States Supreme Court Rulings
LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Kleeb issues the following statement following the Supreme Court’s rulings this week:
“The Republican Supreme Court justices, doing Trump’s bidding, consistently undermine women’s rights and fairness for all Americans. Access to legal abortion must be guaranteed for all women, regardless of economic status.
This week alone, the Republican-led Supreme Court has given the Executive Branch, the Trump Administration, and red states broader powers on cases involving deporting migrants without due process, limiting access to abortion, and limiting district judges’ injunction powers.
With today’s ruling, the key issue of birthright citizenship has been postponed, but attacks on immigrants, women’s healthcare, and the LGBTQ community will continue by this administration.
Trump will undoubtedly push the limits of the presidency for the remainder of this second term. As Democrats, we will continue to call out the overreach by Trump and the Supreme Court while at the same time engaging voters and recruiting candidates to turn the page on this chaos.”
