NDP Chair Jane Kleeb blasted Nebraska GOP Reps. Don Bacon, Jeff Fortenberry and Adrian Smith for voting against the House version of major infrastructure legislation on Thursday.
The House of Representatives approved infrastructure legislation to rebuild America’s crumbling roads, bridges, water systems and public transit, among other things. The INVEST in America Act would provide $715 billion in funding for infrastructure projects, including $343 billion for roads, bridges, and safety programs; $109 billion for transit; $95 billion for passenger and freight rail; $117 billion for drinking water; and $51.25 billion for wastewater infrastructure.
Only two Republicans voted for the measure.
“Bacon, Fortenberry and Smith proved yet again that they will vote their party over the good of Nebraska and the nation every time,” Kleeb said. “It’s pathetic — and despicable.”
