Nebraska Democratic Party Statement on the Nebraska Secretary of State Releasing Voter Data to the Department of Justice
LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Democratic Party Chair and ASDC President Jane Kleeb issued the following statement regarding the Nebraska Secretary of State releasing voter data to the Department of Justice today:
“It is shameful that Donald Trump refuses to trust the Republican-run state of Nebraska to administer its own elections with integrity. Nebraska’s state and county election officials — Republicans and Democrats alike — work every day to keep voter rolls accurate and our elections safe and secure.
This latest attempt at federal overreach exposes the hypocrisy of Trump Republicans who wear “don’t tread on me” shirts while trying to tread all over states they claim to defend. The Nebraska Democratic Party believes in local control, the rule of law, and respecting the professionals who safeguard our democracy. When we elect a new Governor, Secretary of State, and Attorney General this November, we will stand up to the lawlessness of the Trump Administration.”
