LINCOLN – The Nebraska Democratic Party calls on Don Bacon to disavow the Nebraska Republican Party’s refusal to denounce “all degrading remarks towards women, minorities and other individuals by Republican elected office holders or party officials.” at the NE GOP Convention this weekend.
The call for Bacon to distance himself from the hateful rhetoric of the GOP presumptive nominee, Donald Trump, comes on the heels of the NE GOP State Convention where the Nebraska GOP voted to stand by the hateful remarks directed towards women, minorities, and war heroes.
“Don Bacon should be standing up to the hateful speech that’s so prevalent in the Republican Party right now,” said Hadley Richters, Nebraska Democratic Party Executive Director. “As a candidate running for office in Nebraska, Don Bacon has chosen to embrace hate speech targeted at women, endorsements by white supremacists, and condemning minorities, all of which should have no place in his platform.”
Will Bacon stand for what is right, or kowtow to the extreme factions of his own party and continue to support Donald Trump and his hateful speech?
