Celebrate the Biden-Harris Inauguration Virtually and with Action

You can help us celebrate the Biden-Harris inauguration in several ways during Jan. 18-20, 2021.

You can stay in touch with all the national news around the Inauguration on the Biden/Harris official site.

You can purchase Nebraska-specific Biden/Harris shirts on our online store.

We are joining the Biden-Harris team’s Day of Service by coordinating a food drive across the state as a way to give back for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, many families are struggling with food insecurity and food banks are struggling to keep up with demand.  Our goal is to help ease that burden.

Please gather some non-perishable foods, write a note or make a small sign. Then, take a picture and share it with us on social media–using the hashtags #NebDemsCare #BidenHarris.

Or you can send us a picture to [email protected] so we can share!

See locations of Nebraska food banks here for where you can drop off your items.

If you would like to give a monetary donation, here is a group that helps families struggling with food insecurity.

As a thank you, we will be sending out commemorative inaugural stickers to those who have donated.

To let us know you will participate, sign up here.

To receive the sticker, please fill out this form.

The NDP is joining the Biden-Harris team in a national day of remembrance for those who have died because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Jan. 19 at 5:30 p.m. local time, we will light up the darkness in remembrance of those we have lost to COVID and in honor of those still battling this pandemic.

At 5:30 p.m. local time, light a candle, or use a flashlight–you can sit in your window or go out on your porch. You can also ring a bell or ask your local place of worship if they will ring their bells.

Please take a picture and share it with us on social media–using the hashtags #NebDemsCare #BidenHarris. Or, you can email us a picture to [email protected] so we can share!

We will hold two in-person events on Jan. 19–please bring your own candle (or flashlight) and of course a mask.

  • Lincoln: State Capitol (west side by the Pres. Lincoln statue), 5:30 p.m. CT
  • Omaha: 72 and Dodge Street (under the Crossroads sign), 5:30 p.m. CT

Sign up here to let us know you are participating.
