August 9, 2019 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm CDT

The 2019 Helen Boosalis Luncheon, hosted by the Nebraska Democratic Women’s Caucus, will be held on August 9 at 11:30 at the Lincoln Station Great Hall. This year’s theme, “Women. Vison. Change.” focuses on the forward movement of Democratic women in our state.

Proceeds from the luncheon fund scholarships for Nebraska women who are continuing their education, active in their communities and implementing progressive politics. The funds will also support candidates in Nebraska. The event will be emceed by Laurie Martinez, with Marthaellen Florence delivering the keynote speech.

The luncheon honors the late Mayor Helen Boosalis and continues her trailblazing inspiration by supporting progressive women active in change in Nebraska. The first female mayor of Lincoln, Helen Boosalis said, “I want to help encourage people to go beyond what they think they’re capable of doing. You can accomplish what you didn’t dream was possible. Take a little risk. Be prepared. Set your goals high.”

Tickets are $50; $35 for students and young professionals. Scholarships for the luncheon are available. Please contact Meg Mikolajczyk (megan.mikolajczyk@gmail.com) for more information.
