Nebraska Democratic Party Statement on Omaha-based Scoular’s Bribery Scandal and Financial Support to Local Republican Elected Officials

LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Democratic Party Chair and ASDC President Jane Kleeb issued the following statement regarding Omaha-based agricultural company Scoular, which was fined $10 million for international bribery activity, and according to FEC filings, contributed to the campaigns of Pete Ricketts, Deb Fischer, and Adrian Smith:

“With corruption at an all-time high involving the Trump administration, local Republicans in Nebraska are being exposed. With rising prices on groceries, housing rates going up, and working families getting less for their dollar, the last thing Americans want to see from their elected officials is corrupt corporations buying their way into politics. Scoular has been identified as paying off cartels, supporting Donald Trump, and making contributions to local elected officials. We call on Pete Ricketts, Deb Fischer, and Adrian Smith to return contributions made to their campaigns by Scoular.”
